Meditation is to mindfulness as exercise is to fitness. Meditation has existed for over 5,000 years and has endured the test of time. I am not sure why everyone doesn’t meditate.
Prayer is talking to God as meditation is to listening to God. It is the one centered practice of my personal wellness, connection to God and the world around me. It takes me to new levels of my Infinite Potential, and I feel like I am living a natural high of flow.
Meditation can help those that suffer from:
- Problems Sleeping
Meditation benefits include:
- Relapse Prevention
- Improved Sleep
- Improved Relationships
- Stress Reduction
- Inner Peace
- Eliminates Muscle Tension
I first started looking into meditation because of problems with my sleep. Little did I know at the time this is when my I would start living my Infinite Potential in wellness, spirituality, and my life would undergo a complete transformation.
I began to live the recovery lifestyle and the Bulletproof lifestyle taught me about mind and body wellness. I fixed everything I could fix, but somehow I had so much work ahead of me. I was totally overwhelmed by the work my research was revealing to me.
Have you ever started a monumental life transformation? I have many times, but this time, I was done living the life I was living. I would not stop at anything to create the life I dream.
I just didn’t realize at the time that it would require me to transform everything I knew. I was called to leave my marriage, leave a career and radically change every cell in my mind and body.
I started to work on my diet and lost 50 pounds of fat. I cured my liver disease. I was able to take hold of my biology and normalized my blood, hormones, and neurotransmitters. After I was able to get my body in a much healthier state, I found other things to improve.
I started using the emWave2 and with these simple breathing exercises created a new world of being. It taught me proper breathing techniques. It uses heart rate variability as biofeedback mechanism when we are are in what they call coherence.
Coherence is when our lungs, heart, and mind are in sync. To give you an example, when we have regular deep breathing our heart and lungs synchronize. This synchronization is similar to how we can slow our heart rate by altering our breath. When we incorporate positive thought in the mental dimension, this creates a synchronicity within.
I was at a point in my life I was healthy, no longer drank or did drugs and was on a personal development journey. I still had a major problem with my wife, I was in a mental prison of the reality the marriage.
After healing over her affairs and realizing I wanted better for myself, I left. Leaving was the hardest most confusing thing I have ever experienced. I had to leave someone who I wanted to love, but could not be loved.
Have you ever experienced such heartbreak, leaving something you love? After some time, I felt as though I should be healed. It was as if my mind would not stop. I had a sense my mind was broke.
I had no control of my mind, and it would run down the street with scissors, get lost, trip and fall. The lack of mind control left me unable to concentrate, created muscle tension and in the end, it caused suffering.
For an unknown reason, I stumbled on the Power Of Now by Eckhart Tolle and that book changed my life. I now understood what my thoughts were and how to manage them be keeping them in the present. I have since been able to write about how his work influenced my mindfulness practices in living in my Infinite Potential.
To me, the Power Of Now is the theory and technique behind our thoughts, but I needed a way to practice them. I had a breathing practice that helped, but it was not until I found the practice of meditation that my world changed.
I remember the first group meditation I did. It was a twenty-minute meditation with a group and guided by an instructor. It was brutal. I remember wanting to punch the wall. I was mad because the wall could just sit there and I couldn’t.
I needed some help and knew I was in the right place. Group meditations are similar to group exercise in that it pushes us out of our comfort zone into what is possible.
From then on I started a meditation practice because my thoughts over the divorce were causing me so much stress and pain that it was affecting my ability to function.
I invested in a Muse, which is a neurofeedback device that can read our brainwave activity when our mind starts to wander during meditation. The Muse helped take my meditation to higher levels.
The Muse was helpful because it helps create solid meditation skills in a short amount of time. How do you know if you are meditating correctly? How do you know what you don’t know or have never experienced? It is hard to know without someone up in our heads.
Meditation has helped me in my exciting upwards spiral into worlds I never knew existed. I have a wave of peace I never knew. I have joy over the worst pains in my life. I created a reality of bliss, and it is at our fingertips.
I regularly do a 30-minute meditation where I can induce drug-like states using different breathing techniques and visualizations. These breathing techniques are very powerful when designing and living as a creator of our reality.
Meditation allows us to practice control over my biology. Our bodies can take control of our spiritual selves. Being able to recognize the effects of emotion and fears on the body helps reduce stress by turning to a mindful breath. Whenever we can reduce the stress, we increase vitality and wellness.
If we are in a stressful state, we are more susceptible to using unhealthy means of coping. I dealt with a toxic marriage for decades by using drugs and alcohol because I didn’t have tools like meditation.
Sometimes we use things outside ourselves like alcohol, drugs, sex, overspending, food, Facebook or even working out in ways that are not healthy when we are in a stressed state. Finding better ways to cope with the stress of life will help create happier and healthier lives.
When we can better learn to manage our biological stress response the healthier we are. When we have power over our mind to keep us out of the fight or flight state we create space for better thinking and in turn decisions.
The purpose of meditation is to exercise our minds ability to manage our thoughts. Our minds are in a constant state of iterative thinking. We have one thought at a time and impossible to stop. Meditation is NOT the act of stopping our thinking, but to exercise our ability to thinking on ONE thing.
We can have more than 50,000 thoughts per day with over 95% of them being the same thoughts we had the previous day. Having control over these are where we can create our desired realities into living our Infinite Potential by having the strength to center our thoughts on ones that serve us.
We have the ability to change our lives by shifting what we think about over time. We have the power to create the reality and the life we live in by being mindful of our thoughts. Meditation is the practice of managing our thinking to which serves us.
Meditation is when we can synchronize our brainwaves to the frequency of God’s universe. These wavelengths guide us to our true selves. Making us new in one as a whole, in one of the universe.
Meditation is a medium to connect us with our true one selves. In turn connects us to God within and the universe in one. Preventing the body and mind driving our wills into suffrage.
Everything is energy and when we can see and harness the powers of the universe we have the supernatural intuition and ability to create our realities. Our reality influences the world around us.
God is not something external that we must put in us. To find God, we must search within. Meditation is the most powerful ways I know to find his presence.
I feel as though God injected me with crazy love and all the riches of his kingdom as I effortlessly navigate the process of life. It is like I can transcend my mind and body and exist in a purely spiritual place.
How to Meditate
How do you know if you need meditation? Can you sit and stare at a wall for five minutes without going crazy? If you cannot do this, I would encourage you to try meditation for a week and see how it changes your life.
Here is how to meditate in the simplest form:
1. Start by meditating for a minimum of 3 minutes, but 10 is better. I use a timer to ensure I meditate long enough.
2. Pick a comfortable place where you will not be disturbed. Whether you sit, stand, lay down, or Lotus doesn’t matter. Whatever works for you.
3. Exhale completely through your mouth. Make sure exhale each last bit of oxygen.
4. Breathe in through your nose and visualize oxygen filling the depths of your stomach up through your mouth.
5. Repeat this cycle for 10 minutes or for as long as you can. Try to keep you exhales longer than your inhales. Concentrate on the breath when your mind starts thinking about anything else. This is normal and do not get down on yourself.
People often count their breath or perform The 4-7-8 Breath.
Here is a TED Talk on meditation:
Meditation is a practice and the more we put into it, the more we get out of it. It doesn’t matter the type of meditation or technique that we do. It matters that we do one.
As we become accustomed to the practice not only will we notice our changes, but the world will look different. We are then ready for the alternative type of meditation where we can incorporate a different way to breathing and finding new ways to treat life as a living meditation.
I am teaching my kids how to meditate and learning ways to incorporate it into different aspects of my life. I meditate while driving, flying, working, during court appearances and even walking with my eyes closed.
I am continually looking for ways to push my limits. Here is an inspiring example of the power of the breath
I have the ability to use binaural beats, music, various breathing techniques to create a drug like a state and altered consciousness. These altered states allow me to flow and tap into my Infinite Potential and the universe’s energies to create my dream life.
My goal is to inspire one person so that they will be closer to the one who exists within themselves and finding a new way to live. I coach people in using meditation to help recover from their disconnection from their one true self and God that lives within.
If you have any questions about meditation I am donating a full hour of coaching to see how I may serve you. Meditation has been so transformational for my family that I am required to give away.
Please comment if meditation has impacted your life in a meaningful way.
