How will this show benefit you
We will take a deep dive in the concept of the Recovery Squared logo and how it contains the principles of transformation and growth. Our lives are a cycle of pain and struggle, revelation and learning, growing and transcending. The beliefs, people, places and things that get us to one point will not get us to our infinite potential. Being a human, we are all recovering from something. We are all trying to recover from the disconnection from our true self where our infinite potential lives. This disconnection manifests in addiction, depression, disease, illness, being stuck and a host of other issues. At each step of getting to our next stage, there is a seed where the laws of gestation apply. The boxes and beliefs we grow this seed from will not be the box and belief that will transcend us to our next stage. To step into out next stage as quickly as possible we need to focus on the one thing that makes all other things easier or unnecessary.
Ideas & Insights
The seed represents growing on a new level, and the growth cycle iterates every few months. I reach new heights regularly, and I almost feel like a different person. I will have breakthroughs or something will happen in my business, and I will realize I am operating at a new level.
Law of Gestation
The belly of the R looks similar to a pregnant woman and that whatever we want to create takes time. When we are climbing to a new level, the Law of Gestation applies. We need to allow this time but not necessarily expect a period.
Recovery Times Recovery
I want to live in my infinite potential by taking the basics of what recovery taught me and multiplied it in all aspects of my life. Living in our potential requires stepping out of the norms of what institutions or society puts on what that means.
The idea of the book, The One Thing, is to focus on the one thing that will make all things easier and unnecessary. The goal of my work and that of Recovery Squared is to find the tools that are right for you that are going to give you that compounding effect and square your recovery.
Society, institutions, other people tend to put us in a box. I believe that one of the reasons we become disconnected from self is because we live in boxes, via labels, things people say to us, that somehow limit us. At times those boxes are a safe place for us, but they also might limit us at some point.
At a time I believed (boxed) that I needed drugs and alcohol to feel safe and feel better. So that belief was the only tool I had at the time and kept me addicted to drugs. I didn’t have any other tools.
When I got to a point where drugs and alcohol were no longer working, I had to find a different belief. I realized that the old way was not working, and I had to search for answers.
The 12-step program taught me that I didn’t have to use drug or alcohol, but I am still an addict. This belief was a requirement that served me at that time. This belief kept me clean and provided a foundation for my next step.
But at some point, I kept living my infinite potential, learning and squaring my recovery.
I got to a point that I realized, and questioned, why am I affirming that I am still an addict? Is that serving me anymore? Because when we put ourselves in a box via labels we often act within that same box. By me affirming that I was still an addict, I was opening myself up to other types of addiction that justified what I was calling myself.
At some point, I realized that I had to stop doing that and I ended up leaving recovery. And to me, that was an example of another box that I put myself in that I needed at one point, but then it no longer served me and was limiting me.
Today, I try to live what I like to call my infinite potential which is a constant cycle of different beliefs that gets you to one place and applies in all areas of your life. It doesn’t have to do with addiction or anything to which recovery is necessary. Our natural state is to continue our growth and to reach our next level. At each new box, we can plant the seed and grow it and then go to the next one. But we have to remember that we are in constant evolution.
What got us here will not get us there
What got us here will not get us there. The people, places, and things that got us here will not get us there. One of those things is beliefs. The beliefs that got us here will not get us there!
What I like about the background picture is that it from a storm drain tunnel. For most of my life, I lived in the storm drain of life. It was dark times with a lot of tripping and falling. I could see the light, but I didn’t know how to get there. I kind of always knew within me what direction to go.
